The Launch Series at the Library

Introducing the Allegany County Library System's LAUNCH series at Washington Street Library,  FREE science, technology, engineering, and math fun!

The  LAUNCH series is designed to introduce students ages 12 and older to the important Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) concepts that will drive the 21st century.  This series connects local STEM experts with motivated young people in a program which promotes STEM education and career paths.

Become an Amateur Archeologist


Seth Meyers from the National Park Service will bring fossils discovered at the C&O Canal Park and explain what those fossils tell us about animals and plants that lived here millions of years ago. Students will then make their own fossil and share it's story with the group!
