New Library Hours Start July 5

The Allegany County Library System will introduce new hours of operation starting Tuesday, July 5. 

In observance of Independence Day, all branches of the Allegany County Library System will be closed on Monday, July 4.  

The implementation of a new library schedule is the result of the feedback we received during the library’s budget planning process. When members of the community expressed the need for evening and weekend hours to make the library’s resources more accessible, the library staff worked hard to develop a schedule that will best meet those needs. With the return of evening and more weekend hours, the libraries will be more accessible to all members of the community including students, working families, and community groups.  

The LaVale Library remains closed for renovations with the ribbon cutting celebrations planned for September 23 and 24.
