Sign up for a library card online!

The Allegany County Library system now allows you to register for a library card from home using our website.     Those who don’t have a library card can now sign up and take advantage of our eBooks, eAudiobooks, and streaming movies during this period of self quarantine.   For those people who haven’t used the library in a while, we have also removed any system blocks (overdue fines, expired cards, etc) so you can also take advantage of our resources from home.   Library staff is regularly monitoring our Contact Us online form, so if you need any help, start there. 

To register for a library card online, start by clicking the Account button in the top right of our website.  Then click on “tap here to register.” For detailed instructions for online registration, please click here.

After reading the introductory text, you can then select your home library and fill out your information. Please be sure to include your email address to complete the online registration process. You will then receive a temporary barcode starting with the letters PACREG (i.e. PACREG253027). Library staff will then create the account and send you an email with your updated account information so you can begin using our online resources!

Registering for a library card online will be good for 60 days. After that period, you may complete your library registration at any of our locations for the full-term (three years).
